Organic 2

Aim : To observe the difference in acidity of certain organic compounds

Apparatus :
test tubes , magnesium , sodium carbonate , sodium hydroxide , phenolphthalein , 
sodium , phenol , ethanol , ethanoic acid

Method :
Into 4 test tubes place respectively small amounts of magnesium , sodium carbonate 
sodium hydroxide mixed with drops of phenolphthalein , sodium . Add a few drops of 
ethanoic acid to each and observe .
Repeat the process for the ethanol and the phenol .

Discussion :
