Experiment 11

To observe the common ion effect

Warm 50 ml of water and add 10g of lead iodide .
Stir vigourously . Allow the mixture to cool and filter .

Divide the filtrate into six portions .

Add to the portions as follows

1) lead nitrate
2) lead acetate
3) sodium nitrate
4) sodium iodide

2 other reagents were added but i cannot find the notes

Observe

Comment on the observations and why reactions occur in some
portions . Write relevant equations .
